The objectives of the DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM course are to help you:

*Understand the effects of aging on driving
*Learn driving strategies that take into account the changes we experience as we age
*Identify the most common crash situations you face
*Reduce your chances of having a crash
*Update your knowledge and understanding of today's roads, vehicles and other road users
*Think about how you drive
*Identify when driving may no longer be safe.

There is no test. Tennessee law provides for a discount on auto insurance costs for graduates of the 8 hour course who are 55 and older if they have had a good driving record for three years. The course costs $12 for members and $14 for non-members, which is payable to AARP. Instructors are trained volunteers. Call for information and enrollment form.
